Dr. Daniel Maedge, PhD

Dr. Daniel Maedge is a partner at Marabek and brings 15+ years of expertise and experience in science with focus on chemistry. At the Technical University of Braunschweig he started out with a diploma thesis about polymers used for tissue engineering. In the field of polymer chemistry and surface chemistry he studied the „Grafting of Polymers onto SiO2 Surfaces through Surface-attached Monomers“ for his PhD thesis at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau.

In the course of his career he held various positions in the chemical industry in Germany and the United States. Having been an R&D manager, a deputy plant manager and a global technology manager generated insights and experiences that give him a comprehensive picture of innovation life cycles and new product development phases and how manufacturing can support these.

Daniel's combined skills from the details-level management to the bigger-picture vision are a great asset when it comes to translating strategies into initiatives and activities to drive and achieve business objectives. His expertise goes beyond strategic management include production and operational controls and engineering development within manufacturing companies. His broad background also extends well into P&L management, R&D development budgeting and cross-platform costing and capital planning.

In 2013 he moved to the USA to work for a global technology management team. In this role he had the opportunity to interact with diverse cultures in professional settings. Traveling to technical centers in Asia, Europe and America and advising local staff a gave him a good idea on how to approach technical service and application development combined with local manufacturing capabilities on a global scale yet still catering to different cultural backgrounds.

At Marabek, Daniel leads our team in assisting manufacturing clients with developing technologies in renewable energy, ag & food sciences, fuel cell technology, chemical, polymers, dispersible polymer powders and many scientific other disciplines.  He is fluent in German, English, French and some basic Mandarin. He holds several patents in Polyvinyl Acetate and Vinyl Acetate research.
